Cierra's Back

My Cierra is back.

The drive to Denver and back was long, but now it feels like I am really truly here and not just visting.

I still have a slight lingering of that floating sensation I used to get when my dad or ex-husband would PCS (moving due to military orders)

I am still hoping that feeling won't last long.

I will give it a couple more weeks, I think my brain hurts from working a full week and driving BOTH of my days off all day. This coming weekend will be nice and even nicer if I find out what is going on with the job.

le sigh

The Random Interview

Funny story.

Yesterday as I was getting myself ready for work (in a hurry...as usual- That's how I roll- don't hate!)

In the midst of blowdrying, my phone rang. It was a number from Omaha that I didn't recognize.

My family is huge, I figured it was just one of them, so I popped my phone on speaker and answered, "Hey!This is Jen... You're on speaker...who is this?"

A pausity voice on the other end replied, "Yeah...um...this is Gina, calling from Ulta about your application, is now a good time to talk?"

(Oh shit! was all I could think...because it really wasn't a good time to talk, but I can fake it VERY well...by fake I mean multi-task)

ULTA is a cosmetics superstore whose number one rival at the moment is Sephora (with whom I have beef with at the moment...this is a match made in Heaven-clearly).

Long Story Short, I managed to put on a full face of make-up, get dressed AND carry-out a preliminary interview! I wasn't even late for my bankity job- I RULE-clearly.

The Random Interview

This morning was my first interview with a funky little operations manager named Penny (she was from Arizona,so-very-obvious that she is not an original-midwestern girl). It went really well. I interviewed for the position of Prestige Store Manager, which is basically responsible for managing product and employees who work in that specific section. That section consists of the following yummy yummy product lines (the gratis ferries are dancing gleefully in my head)Smashbox, Benefit, Urban Decay, Bare Minerals, ALL FRAGRANCE... you get the picture. IN the event that I get hired for the job, I would be responsible for training, visual, event organization and goal setting.

It is exactly what I want to be doing...to build management experience while finishing off my Master's degree.... le sigh.

After the interview (which lasted a whole hour), I headed straight to my job at the Bank of the West. While driving, not even ten minutes later, I got a call from my interviewer, Penny

"Jen? It's Penny... Gina (the regional manager) would like to interview you as soon as possible... how is tomorrow same time, same place?"

HOLY GEEEEZE! YIPPPPYYYY!

Tomorrow is my second back to back interview for this position. I am excited. I'm still not sure what the position pays...as long as it is more than I am currently getting now, I think I will be okay. Cross your fingers and toes and eyelashes for me! I want this to work out! Oh! AND give me a damn good reference if anybody calls you! winkity wink! I loves you alllll!!!!

Yeah Yeah Yeah

I cannot believe it is almost July- where has the summer gone? I knew before I made the move to Omaha on May 1st, that I could pretty much kiss the summer goodbye...but I was still hopeful at that point! Besides the few days at the lake, all that really sticks out is the many hours spent driving between here (Omaha) and Denver. uggity!

Now that Cierra is finally here, and I actually have an income, I was hoping to relax a bit...I'm not holding my breath! (Or maybe I should to put myself outta missery)

The hours at good ole' Bank of the West Collections are begining to wear on me a bit. drumroll please...

Tues, Wed & Thurs: 1:30-10:30pm

Friday: 12-9pm

Saturday: 8-4pm

Sunday and Monday are my days off.

Memorial Day at the Lake

Memorial Day began with a speeding ticket. Apparently, on this particular stretch of highway, speeds are monitored by 'aircraft'. There are signs...yes, BUT I really thought they were just for a diversion. Note to self- Don't speed in Nebraska..don't speed ANYWHERE in Nebraska.

Here are some pictures from that day!- Enjoy!
